Getting there without a car
On a Camino Vecinal outside Tamasopo town — drive or taxi from the center in under 15 minutes (ask for Cabaña Aventuras by name; the roads are unnamed). Tamasopo itself is about an hour from Ciudad Valles by colectivo or car, with frequent service until early evening.

Water shoes, a dry bag, groceries — cabins are self-catering and Tamasopo town is your last real supermarket — plus cash for the life jacket, which is mandatory on the water. Confirm your reservation by phone; signal out there is not a given.
Rainy season & safety
Rain raises the river and can suspend swimming for a day; the cabins ride it out fine. The classic window is the dry season, when the water runs transparent and the pools calm.
