Puente de Dios (Aquismón, río Tampaón)

6.0 / 10Open4.8

Not to be confused with its famous Tamasopo namesake: this Puente de Dios sits on the Tampaón river near El Sidral, where the draw is not a cave-bridge but the wide blue river itself — and the boat. Operators run lancha circuits along the Tampaón's jade water (the same river that carries boats to Tamul), with swimming stops at the area's sculpted pools. The $300 MXN ticket reflects the boat; the vest is mandatory and enforced, the water is the deep-glass kind, and the Dec–May season is when the river runs its postcard transparent.

Getting there without a car

Near the El Sidral settlement, Aquismón side — reachable by car on dry-season roads, or rural taxi from Aquismón with a fixed return. About 1 hour from Ciudad Valles. Open roughly 9 am to 7 pm; the fee covers the lancha circuit, agree on the route before boarding.

What to bring

The vest stays on — it is the rule of the whole operation. Water shoes, dry bag, sunscreen applied before boarding, cash (no signal, no cards), and food if you plan a long river day; services are minimal on this stretch.

Rainy season & safety

The Tampaón rises fast in the rains and operators suspend boat runs when the current turns — the same closures that hit the Tamul route. December to May is the transparent-water, reliable-season window.

Good to know

  • Confirm what the $300 includes (route, stops, wait time) before boarding — it varies by operator.
  • Pair with El Sidral pools nearby: two blue swims, one quiet afternoon.
  • Dry season gives the water its famous color; after storms, ask before paying.
